How to Find a Reliable Smithtown, NY Power Washing Company
Is your siding covered with streaks of green algae? Are patches of moss growing on your roof? Is your driveway coated with dirt and stains? Whatever the case may be, if any of the exterior surfaces of your Suffolk County home could use a good cleaning, you might be thinking about hiring a Smithtown, NY power washing professional. You want to make sure that you hire a reputable company that you can count on to deliver excellent results; however, if you’ve never hired a power washing company before, you’re probably wondering how to go about doing that. To help point you in the right direction, here are four simple tips that you can use to find a credible company that specializes in house washing near you.
Ask for Recommendations
Start your quest for finding a reputable Smithtown, NY power washing company by asking the people you know for recommendations. Find out if any of your family members, friends, neighbors, or even co-workers have hired a professional power washer before. If so, ask what companies they used, if they were satisfied with the results the company provided, and whether or not they would recommend you use the company to clean your Suffolk County house. Word-of-mouth recommendations are one of the best ways to find reliable, efficient, and affordable companies that offer house washing near you. Why? Because you can usually depend on the people you know to provide their honest input.
Whether you don’t know anyone who can recommend a power washing professional or you got a few recommendations but you want to add a few more options to the list, the internet is a great place to find Smithtown, NY power washing services. Search for terms like “house washing near me” or “power washing companies in my area” into your browser and you’ll be sure to find several options to choose from.
Visit the websites of a few different companies that come up in your search results. Check out what type of services they offer. See if you can find out about their credentials (how long they’ve been in business, if they’re licensed, etc.). See if there are any testimonials from past clients on their site. Reputable Suffolk County power washing professionals know how important a website is – both for their clients and to the success of their business – and they’ll make sure that it’s informative, well-designed, and easy to use.
Check Review Sites
Once you have the names of a few companies that you’re interested in, use review websites to see if you can find out more information about them. Sites like Home Advisor, Angie’s List, and Google My Business are a great way to learn about all kinds of companies and services, including professionals that offer house washing near you. These sites feature company profiles of businesses that service the local Suffolk County area and compile reviews from clients who have used those companies. Take the time to read through what people have to say about the Smithtown, NY power washing companies that you’re considering.
Contact Each Company
Once you’ve compiled a list of professionals that offer house washing near you, get in touch with each one. In order to ensure that you’re making the best choice, it’s so important to speak with prospective companies before you decide which one to hire. Be sure to ask each professional key questions that relate to their credentials and the services they provide, such as:
Of course, you can include any other pertinent questions that you feel would help you make your decision. After you’ve spoken to each Smithtown, NY power washing company, review the answers they’ve provided. Additionally, consider the interaction you had with each one. Did they seem knowledgeable and friendly? Were they able to answer all of your questions? If you had to leave a message, did they get back to you in a timely manner? If any of the companies make a bad impression – they seem rude, they can’t answer all of your questions, or they just seem indifferent – consider those red flags and cross them off your list. The impression that a company that offers house washing near you says a lot about the type of results they will deliver.

Smithtown is a town in Suffolk County, New York, United States, on the North Shore of Long Island. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. The population was 117,801 at the 2010 Census.
Smithtown, originally known as “Smithfield”, was first settled around 1665. Local legend has it that, after rescuing a Native American chief’s abducted daughter, Richard Smith was told that the chief would grant title to all of the land Smith could encircle in one day “on a bull”. Smith chose to ride the bull on the longest day of the year (summer solstice), to enable him to ride longer “in one day”. The land he acquired in this way is said to approximate the current town’s location. There is a large anatomically correct statue of Smith’s bull, known as Whisper, at the fork of Jericho Turnpike (New York State Route 25) and St. Johnland Road (New York State Route 25A).

The border between Smithtown and the town of Huntington is partially defined by Bread and Cheese Hollow Road (Suffolk County Road 4), so named after Bread and Cheese hollow, which according to legend is where Smith stopped on his ride to have a lunch of bread and cheese. The road is reputed to follow part of his original ride. The border between Smithtown and Huntington was also the site of Fort Salonga, a British fort that was the site of a battle of the American Revolution during 1781.
The Smithtown hamlet of Nesconset, New York, was the home of Spaceplex, an indoor amusement park and arcade that was falsely accused of being the abduction site in the Katie Beers kidnapping case in 1992.
